The Music Librarian of Sinfonia da Camera is responsible for procuring, marking, distributing, and returning all music required for the activities of Sinfonia da Camera.

• Determining where music needed by Sinfonia da Camera can be procured (including the University of  Illinois Music Library, music publishers for rental or purchase, or other sources)

•  Ensuring that music arrives on the required date, and that it is complete as indicated on shipping documents

• Distributing music to string principals for marking, transferring those markings into all string parts, and distributing music to all members of the orchestra in a timely fashion

• Creating and distributing practice copies

• Attending rehearsals as required, ensuring music markings and procurement are adequate

• Collecting all music after each event, making sure parts are clean, and returning those parts to    the appropriate source within the time constraints required

• Ability to read music and understand musical markings, especially string bowings

• Familiarity with rental, purchase, and public domain orchestral music sources

•  Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with the Music Director, Executive Manager, and all orchestral personnel

•  Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills

•  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music

• Substantial professional and/or educational experience in a musical ensemble

• Prior experience as a Music Librarian

• Current UIUC Student or Staff

$14 per hour; 30-40 hours per concert cycle
