Sinfonia da Camera
announces the 2009-10 season.
Sinfonia da Camera’s 2008-2009 Season commemorated 25 years of musicmaking under the direction of Sinfonia’s founder, Maestro Ian Hobson. Sinfonia reprised highlights of past seasons, premiered innovative new works, and collaborated with local and visiting performers in a memorable season. Thank you for making our Silver Anniversary Season such a success.
We are equally excited about our upcoming season, which includes music inspired by Shakespeare, contemporary works featuring jazz trombone and the world’s foremost contrabassoon player, choral works and a tribute to the 200th birthday of Robert Schumann. Later Sinfonia introduces the Rush Hour concert, an hour-long program featuring popular works by Gershwin and Beethoven, designed to appeal to both old and new audiences. With low ticket prices and free admission for children, the Rush Hour concert is a great way to introduce classical music to people of all ages. Sinfonia is looking at innovative ways to introduce the wonders of a live performance to a new audience while maintaining the brilliant programming our current friends have come to expect.
